According to the LAPD, actor Corey Haim was found dead in his apartment  at the age of 38 of an apparent overdose. It is believed that Haim, who has had past struggles with drug addiction died at 3:30AM on Wednesday (March 10, 2010) and was pronounced dead Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank.

The actor shot to fame in the 80′s for his memorable role in the movie The Lost Boys with the other Corey (Feldman).

Charlie Murphy’s wife, Tisha Taylor-Murphy, lost her long battle with cancer and died in her sleep this past Sunday (Dec 13, 2009) in the couple’s home in New Jersey with their family at her side. The couple married in 1997 and have two children together. The older brother of Eddie Murphy, Charlie gained fame through his appearance on Chappelle’s Show.

Their publicist released the following:

“Tisha Taylor Murphy, wife of comedian and actor Charlie Murphy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, with family at her side after facing the challenges of cancer for the past two years. The Murphy Family appreciates all the support they have received from friends and fans and requests privacy during this very difficult time.”

Willie Maxine Perry, the mother of actor/comedian Tyler Perry passed away today at the age of 64. On his personal website, Perry posted a short message thanking everyone for their prayers for his mother. There was no cause of death or any other details provided. She was born on February 12, 1945 and for most of her life worked as a preschool teacher at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center. She also served as the inspiration for Tyler’s character Madea. She passed away December 8, 2009.
