New Life Children’s Refuge Haitian Orphan Rescue Mission

Here’s the plan that the New Life Children Refuge group had put in place prior to leaving for Haiti:

****************
*** NEW UPDATE ***
Baptist Group in Haiti has been charged with Child Kidnapping
****************

New Life Children’s Refuge
Haitian Orphan Rescue Mission

Purpose: Rescue Haitian orphans abandoned on the streets, makeshift hospitals or from
collapsed orphanages in Port au Prince and surrounding areas, and bring them to New Life
Children’s Refuge in Cabarete, Dominican Republic.

The Urgent Need: The number of Haitian orphans is estimated to have increased by 300% as a
result of the catastrophic earthquake this past week. Thousands of children have lost their
parents, and are injured, hungry, thirsty and alone with limited chance of survival without help.

The Plan:
Rescue Orphans from Port au Prince, Haiti
• Friday/Saturday, Jan 22nd : NLCR team fly to the DR
• Sun Jan 23rd: Drive bus from Santo Domingo into Port au Prince, Haiti and gather 100
orphans from the streets and collapsed orphanages, then return to the DR
• Mon Jan 24th: Bus arrives in Cabarete, DR at New Life Children Refuge
• Haiti Team: Laura Silsby, Charisa Coulter, Carla Thompson, Nicole & Corrinna Lankford
Paul Thompsons Team from East Side Baptist Church, Twin Falls
Provide love and care for the children
• Interim New Life Children Refuge Location: NLCR is in the process of buying land and
building an orphanage, school and church in Magante on the northern coast of the
Dominican Republic. Given the urgent needs from this earthquake, God has laid upon
our hearts the need to go now vs. waiting until the permanent facility is built. He has
provided an interim solution in nearby Cabarete, where we will be leasing a 45 room
hotel and converting it into an orphanage until the building of the NLCR is complete.
This interim location will enable us to provide a loving environment for up to 150
children, from infants to 12 years old.
• Team Needed: NLCR is praying and seeking people who have a heart for God and a
desire to share God’s love with these precious children, helping them heal and find new
life in Christ. Please prayerfully consider a 2 week or longer mission trip to help NLCR
provide rotating staffing for the care of the children over the next 6 months.

Prayer Requests
• For discernment of God’s will and direction throughout this trip and for Him to prepare
the way before us
• For God to continue to grant favor with the Dominican Government in allowing us to
bring as many orphans as we can into the DR
• For God to guide us to the children He wants us to bring to NLCR and for their physical,
emotional and spiritual healing

Why would you pray for child abductors? The kids weren’t even given proper care. This is disgusting.

how could you think for a moment there would not be consequences?

you injure the adoptive process for everyone in the world, and in turn, hurt babies, toddlers, prospective and current adoptive parents… and children.

only complete idiots would do what you did. you also knew better and I hope you go to prison!

These people need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. They think they are doing favors by being Christian Americans. I think Jesus just hit his forehead in shame.

The prayer requests are quite ironic in view of the lunacy that followed. Think long and hard, Christians, about the divine inspiration you claim to have. Isn’t common sense a better guide?

My prayers goto the magistrate that will hear this case. I pray he has the wisdom to see through the misuse of God’s name and will, and sentence them to the fullest extent allowed by hatian law. I am willing to bet Haitian prisons are not very nice places.

This whole thing reeks of arrogance, ignorance, and a self-centered scheme.

Thats what happens when you do things under handed. You can’t just bust into another country and just start taking over. Just like hundreds of other ministries who went to Haiti without permission or backing from nay qualified organization and were more of a hinderence then helpful and enededd up having to be resuced themselves.

“Cursed be the one who does the LORD’S work negligently…” (or deceitfully). Jere 48:10.
If the leader of the group this this with deceit in the name of God, then there should be severe consequences for her actions. I pray that the Lord will have mercy on her soul, (even if she gets life in prison). All we should beg the Lord for is that He will bestow forgiveness to her. We all make serious mistakes in life – many which are knowingly. Let’s remember that we are prone to sin always. Remember the adulterer that Jesus forgave.

On another note: She did make things very hard for other groups or people to adopt. I don’t think that the entire group should pay for her deceitfulness.

Wow. These people have absolutely no common sense or empathy for the children whatsoever. That this plan was articulated in advance, and no one had a problem with it, speaks volumes.

Please, please, please, my brothers and sisters, please stop following sociopathic Christian “leaders”. Start selecting your leaders based on biblical principles. That big book isn’t just a paperweight kiddies, you can learn a lot from it if you actually read.

Laura Silsby is a textbook case of anti-social personality disorder. Because she’s a woman, an expert might choose to describe her as having a borderline personality disorder instead, but that’s beside the point. The point is that these charming but unethical people are toxic.

Why do good Christians choose to follow bad people? Can’t you see that this practice results in great suffering for all concerned?

These people are scum. Using religion as a screen to kidnap and brainwash children. They should be in prison.

Child abductors freed. Sad. It is my sincere hope that Silsby and Coulter are prosecuted. All of this done in the name of some mythical deity, created by man to keep the masses of sheeples under control.

Nice job morons. As a direct result of your actions children who had legal paperwork and were ready to be adopted cannot. http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2010-02-23-haiti-orphans_N.htm
“The seizure of the orphans and the brief detention of their escorts Saturday came amid fears that foreigners are exploiting post-earthquake chaos to illegally take children from the country — a perception fueled by an ongoing case involving 10 U.S. Baptist missionaries.” And the people who LEGALLY were there to take these children were attacked by a large group of Haitians,” Bonnema added. “They were swearing at them and saying, ‘These are Haitian babies. You cannot take them. You are child trafficking.”‘

    AGAIN NICE JOB MORONS!!

Don’t you think you should have asked God if this was the right thing to do BEFORE you went and did it. Instead you are asking “Prayer Requests
    • For discernment of God’s will and direction throughout this trip and for Him to prepare
    the way before us”

After you made the decision, not a very bright idea. YOU ASK FIRST AND WAIT ON AN ANSWER, THEY YOU DO NOT GET SCREWED, OR SCREW OTHER PEOPLE.

Even though I certainly will not find on this earth Missionaire these 10 who were arrested in Haiti, I am sure that one day we will meet when Jesus Christ comes biuscar his church, Santa and redeemed by His Blood. I was happy to know that 9 of 10 people arrested in Haiti now were released. I will continue praying that the Lord Jesus Christ make a great work in everyone’s life and that all be freed.

Last night, I, my wife and three daughters pray for the Nigerian brothers who have been under attack (died about 500 Christians).

I wish the Lord Jesus Christ bless your lives and stay in the certainty that your work has not been in vain! May God bless those who bless you!

As I write this, I have eyes full of water by the presence of the Holy Spirit.

May the hand of God is with us! May the Lord bless us and save us from all evil!

Some people can not understand the missionary work and humanitarian work that is done for these people. Some countries according to the media, such as Haiti, Uganda and others, children are sacrificed in rituals. The reader who posted a critique of the work of missionaries in this site, should reflect before writing, it certainly ignores the reality in the world.
I live in Brazil five years and I act in the area of recovery from chemical dependency, and is professor universitario, project manager at a large firm and the pastor of a congregation. And see how the Word of God can free the captives of drugs, prostitution and restore lives.
What we found is that many people have been drugged and persecuted Christians in much of the surface of the earth. We know that our struggle ‘epsiritual, but there is a fact, without Jesus Christ and the Word of God the world will remain a chaos.
How many Christians have been killed each day, as occurred recently in Nigeria. Believing that no longer speak of the love of God will reduce the actions of terrorist groups that act on behalf of a particular religion is innocent. Some of these countries are part of the window 10 x 40, where there is much poverty, corruption and religious fanaticism.
The hatred of Christians is a reality, if you bear the mark of Christ is considered a friend of Israel and pro USA. Many forget the humanitarian work that the missinarios Americans realize how many poor children without resources and had their lives changed for the better with the help of people like those who are missionaries and others who were in Haiti (Many parents do not have to feed their children and very less it.)

In many parts of the world corruption prevails and people seek their own interests, but when Jesus Christ enters the life of one person, hate turns into love for others.
Find that some religion will not use force to win converts! In the case of Nigeria, or the Christian children were spared, were killed with machetes.
I aa sevirmos my house to the Lord, just as we pray and love without knowing the missionaries who were arrested in Haiti, we are praying for Nigeria! And God will be glorified even in that country, for the Lord Jesus Christ is the only Lord and Savior! My daughter of six years asked whether children who were killed by Muslims where they were, I said to the Lord Jesus Christ! I remembered that we have to pray and evangelize yes! We assume that we are servants of God and the Holy Spirit is upon us, He has anointed us to preach the gospel and set the captives of heart! Our weapon is the Word of God and prayer, and the name of the Lord Jesus glorify your name!
We love all living beings and millions of Brazilians love Israel and the U.S. yes, we love the missionary work they’ve done with love and dedication.
May God bless your NGO and the Lord will provide even more resources par Avoca. Nobody can stop the work of you, because it is holy work, not really intended to serve personal interests, but to fulfill through you the Word of God teaches us to love the Jew, the Muslim, the Hindu, the Macumbeiro the junkie and prostitute.

Jesus Christ is coming back! Get ready for church is the Lord of lords, King of kings and generals of the General, Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Jesus the author of life, one whose tomb is empty and that is risen! My Lord is not got a weapon, did not need to use pumps, used only his love, he died for us, He gave His life for us all! Even by his! Commit thy way unto the Lord Jesus Christ, trust Him and He will do (Psalm 37:5)
