Arthur “Art” Clokey (born Arthur C. Farrington), the creator of the claymation classic Gumby died this past Friday January 8th at the age of 88 (1921-2010). According to his son, he died in his sleep in his Los Oscos, California home. He was born on October 12, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan and it was during the 1950’s, Art came up with the idea for Gumby with his first wife, Ruth, after graduating from USC’s film school. Gumby and his buddy Pokey would go on to entertain countless children — and even adults — for years to come.
Please pray for Art and his family.
