A pickup truck crashed into a live Nativity Scene in at a Presbyterian Church in Ohio. The accident happened Wednesday night as groups were watching the nativity display at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ashtabula, Ohio. Three people were struck and two were flown by helicopter to MetroHealth Hospital. One later died.
One of the wise men in the live Nativity was Norman Jepson, the city’s retired fire chief. He said a car struck a pickup and the pickup then crashed into people at the scene, pinning a 57-year-old man against a utility pole. That was the one person who died.
The living Nativity ran from Dec 21 – 23rd from 6:30-8:30pm. The crash happened on the last day.
Police are investigating the accident. There is no word on whether any charges have been filed.
